19 Merkezileşme ya da Merkezileşmeme
Yetkinin üst yönetimde toplandığı yapılar merkezileşmiş, yetkinin tek elde toplanmayarak alt kademelere dağıtıldığı yapılar merkezileşmemiş örgüt yapılarını ifade etmektedir. Örgütler daha esnek ve çevre eğilimlerine karşı daha duyarlı olmaya başlamışlardır, burada merkezileşmemeye (adem-i merkeziyetçilik) doğru belirgin bir kayış olmuştur.

20 Formelleşme Örgüt işlerinin nasıl standardize edileceğini ve çalışan davranışlarının kurallar ve prosedürler ile ölçüleceğini, derecelendirileceğini ifade eder. Yüksek formelleşmenin olduğu örgütlerde; Açık iş tanımları Çok sayıda örgütsel kurallar Açıkça tanımlanmış prosedürler yer alır. Bu durumda işlerin ne zaman ve nasıl yapılacağı üzerinde işçilerin takdiri, payı azdır. Formelleşme arttığında çalışanların aynı faaliyet girdilerini aynı şekilde ele alarak aynı çıktıyı elde edecekleri varsayılır.

21 Formelleşme Formelleşme az olduğunda çalışanların işlerin yapılacağı zaman ve nasıl yapılması konusunda daha çok paya sahiptir. Formelleşme uyum ve kontrol için gerekli olmasına rağmen, bugün birçok örgüt katı kurallara ve çalışan davranışlarına rehberlik eden ve düzenleyen standardizasyona daha az önem vermektedir.
