The Derivative Suffix –lı (having, containing, with) Derivational, a suffix that is used to derive new words with new meanings, such as the suffix –er in the English word teacher. ( teach-) teacher. Knowing the general meaning and function of a derivational suffix will help you guess the meaning of any word to which that derivational suffix is added. The suffix –lı (-lı, -li, -lu, lü) is added to the nouns to form adjectives meaning with, having, containing.
