10 TÜNEL AÇMA KAYA KÜTLELERİNİN TANIMLANMASI Kaya kütleleri; sürekli, homojen ve izotrop malzemelerden olmayıp, çeşitli süreksizlikler tarafından kesilirler. Ayrıca farklı derecede bozunmaya uğramış kayaç türlerini de içerirler. Bu nedenle, dış yüklere maruz kalabilen söz konusu kütlelerin davranışı, içerdikleri süreksizliklerin özellikleri dikkate alınmadan gerçeğe yakın şekilde analiz veya önceden tahmin edilemez. Bu durum, kaya kütlelerinin özelliklerinin sağlıklı bir şekilde tanımlanmasına ve kaya mühendisliği uygulamalarında önem kazanmasına neden olur.

12 TÜNEL AÇMA Kaya kütlesinin tanımlanması; mühendislik yapısının duraylılığını denetleyecek jeolojik unsurların ve bunların fiziksel özelliklerinin tanımlanmasıyla ilgili verilerin toplanması ve kaya kütlesini temsil edecek bir modelin oluşturulması işlemidir. Bu işlemde en önemli aşama, süreksizliklere ait özelliklerin tanımlanmasıdır.

13 TÜNEL AÇMA Süreksizliklerin özellikleri aşağıda belirtilen amaçlara yönelik olarak tayin edilir. Jeolojik yapının ortaya konulması, Kaya kütlelerinin mühendislik sınıflaması ve Kaya kütlelerinin duraylılığı (örneğin, şev duraylılığı veya yeraltı açıklıklarının tavanında oluşan blokların duraylılığı vb.), deformasyonu, sıvı akışı, patlatma ve destek tasarımı gibi uygulamalarda kullanılan kinematik, analitik, sayısal veya görgül yöntemler için veri sağlanması.

23 TÜNEL AÇMA Eğer süreksizlik yüzeyi temiz ve kapalı (sıkı) ise, diğer süreksizlik parametreleri jeoteknik tanımlama açısından yeterli olabilmektedir. Ancak süreksizlik yüzeyi açık ise, bu açıklığın ölçülmesi gerekmektedir. Açıklık, bir süreksizliğin karşılıklı iki yüzeyi arasındaki dik uzaklık olup, boş olabileceği gibi, su veya herhangi bir dolgu malzemesi tarafından doldurulmuş da olabilir.

25 TÜNEL AÇMA Blok Boyutu Blok boyutları, süreksizlik aralığı, eklem seti sayısı ve süreksizlik devamlılığı gibi parametreler tarafından tayin edilir. Hacimsel eklem sayısının belirlenmesi (Jv) : Hacimsel eklem sayısı ((Jv) birim hacimdeki bir kaya kütlesinde gözlenen süreksizliklerin toplamıdır (Ulusay, 2008). Burada, Nn, Gözlenen her bir eklem (süreksizlik) takımı için ölçüm hattı boyunca sayılan süreksizliklerin sayısı ve Ln, Gözlenen her bir eklem takımına dik yönde seçilmiş ölçüm hattının uzunluğudur.

Eğer kaya birimi orjinal dokusunu korumuş, fakat bir kısmı veya tamamı fiziksel veya kimyasal etmenlerle bozunmuş ise ayrışmadan söz edilir Fakat kaya bloğundan kopmalar, kırılmalar söz konusu ise bu sefer de parçalanmadan söz edilir
