BU DERS SONUNDA Past continous tense hakkında bilgi sahibi olacaklar When-while ile cümle kuruluşları gerçekleştirebilecekler, Past simple-past continous tense ayrımını yapabilecekler, Günlük ingilizce, Taşıtlar ve kalacak yerlerle ilgili kelimeler hakkında bilgi sahibi olacaklardır.

Geçmişte belirli bir zamanda devam etmiş, sona ermiş ve günümüze etkisi ulaşmayan iş, oluş ve eylemlerden bahsetmek için kullanırız. * Şimdiki zamanın hikayesi * -iyordum * Sürekli olarak yapılıp, can sıkıcı olan olayların anlatılmasında “always”, “continually”, “constantly” gibi kelimeler kullanılarak şikayet etmek için kullanılır.

Past Continuous Tense To Be + V+ing I He => She is sleeping in her room now. (Present Cont.) Shewas => She was sleeping in her room at 8 o’clock yesterday.(PastC) it You => We are watching TV at the moment. (Present Cont) we were => We were watching TV at this time yesterday. (Past Cont.) they * ‘believe, like, hate, want, understand, trust..’ -ing almaz.

Past Continuous Tense I was studying lesson. (Ders çalışıyordum.) - She was smoking when I saw her. (Onu gördüğümde sigara içiyordu.) - They were drinking tea when I arrived. (Ben vardığımda çay içiyorlardı.) (+) My mother was cooking in the kitchen last night. (-) My mother was not (wasn’t) cooking in the kitchen last night. (?) Was she cooking in the kitchen last night? (i?) What was she cooking in the kitchen?

Past Continuous Tense ayrıca gelecek zaman için kesin planlanmış ve ayarlama yapılmış olayları anlatmada Present Continuous'un kullanılması gibi geçmiş zaman ait kesinleşmiş ve her türlü ayarlamaları yapılmış, yapılacak olayların anlatılmasında bu zaman kullanılır. He was in a great hurry. Because he was meeting his friend at the airport thet morning. (Çok acelesi vardı. Çünkü o sabah hava alanında arkadaşını karşılayacaktı.) - He was happy as he was having dinner with his darling in the evening. (Sevgilisiyle akşamleyin yemek yiyeceği için mutluydu.)

Sürekli olarak yapılıp, can sıkıcı olan olayların anlatılmasında “always”, “continually”, “constantly” gibi kelimeler kullanılarak şikayet etmek için kullanılır. My sister was always wearing my best dress. (Kızkardeşim durmadan en iyi elbisemi giyerdi.) - They were constantly having rows at nights. (Geceleri durmadan kavga ederlerdi.)

Past Simple vs Past Cont.

While (-iken) Andy lost his wallet, while he was walking home. While I was reading a paper, my sister was talking on the phone. The baby was crying, while her mother was having a shower.

When (-dığı zaman) When I left home, my father watching the news on TV. I was having a shower, when the phone rang.
