B-Irregular verbs(düzensiz fiiller) A- Regular verbs (düzenli fiiller) İkinci ve üçüncü hallerinde ‘-d,-ed,-ied’ eklerini alan fiillerdir.

4 Aşağıda ‘–d, -ed, -ied’ takılarının getirilmesiyle ilgili kurallar verilmiştir:
KURAL 1: Bir sesli harf ve ardından e harfi geliyorsa,  -d takısı eklenir.  >dance - danced > erase - erased > place - placed KURAL 2: Bir sesli harf ve ardından bir sessiz harf geliyorsa, sondaki sessiz harf iki kere yazılır ve -ed takısı eklenir. X ve W harfleri hariçtir. > plan – planned > stop - stopped > snow -  snowed > fix - fixed KURAL 3:  İki sesli harf ve ardından sessiz harf gelirse -ed takısı eklenir, son harf iki kere yazılmaz. > rain – rained >need - needed

5 KURAL 4:  Son iki harf sessiz olursa -ed takısı eklenir, son harf iki kere yazılmaz.  help – helped add - added KURAL 5 : Kelimenin sonunda bir sessiz harf ve arkasından -y harfi gelirse, -y harfi atılır ve kelimenin sonuna -ied eklenir.   Worry – worried Reply - replied KURAL 6 : Kelimenin sonunda bir sesli harf ve arkasından -y harfi gelirse, -ied değil, -ed takısı getirilir. play - played stay - stayed

6 B- Irregular Verbs (Düzensiz Fiiler) :
Düzensiz fiiller adından da anlaşılacağı gibi belli bir kurala bağlı kalmadan değişen fiillerdir. Ezberinize kuvvet  go - went swim - swam do - did make-made see-saw cut-cut Düzensiz fiilleri tekrar tekrar okuyarak öğrenmek zordur. Bu yüzden bol bol kitap okuyup, dinleme egzersizleri yaparsanız, bir süre sonra zaten tüm fiilleri öğrendiğinizi farkedersiniz. 

7 SIMPLE PAST TENSE CÜMLE YAPISI
1-Positive Form: Olumlu cümlelerde yardımcı fiil olan DID gelmez ve fiilin ikinci hali kullanılır. Olumsuz ve soru cümlelerinde did veya didn't kullanılır ve fiil yalın haliyle kalır. - I watched TV last night. (Dün gece televizyon seyrettim.) - The rain stopped a few minutes ago. (Yağmur birkaç dakika önce durdu.) - Mary came home very late last night. (Mary dün gece eve çok geç geldi.) - Last year I traveled to England. (Geçen yıl İngiltere'ye seyahat ettim.) - John studied hard all year. (John tüm yıl çok sıkı çalıştı.)

8 2- Negative Form: Simple Past Tense olumsuz cümlelerinde, özneden sonra didn't yardımcı fiili ve fiillerin yalın halleri( V1) kullanılır. V2 sadece olumlu cümlelerde kullanılır. - I didn't go to a movie last night. I stayed at home. (Dün gece sinemaya gitmedim. Evde kaldım.) - Nick didn't come to school yesterday. (Jane dün okula gelmedi.) - We didn't have breakfast this morning. (Bu sabah kahvaltı yapmadık.) - I went to a movie yesterday but I didn't enjoy it. (Dün bir filme gittim ama beğenmedim.) - It didn't snow yesterday.  (Dün kar yağmadı.)

9 3- Interrogative Form: Soru cümleleri yaparken , did yardımcı fiili özneden önce (cümle başında) kullanılır. Fiil yalın halde (V1) kullanılır.  Did you sleep well last night? (Dün gece iyi uyudun mu?) - Did you see the postman this morning? (Bu sabah postacıyı gördün mü?) - Did Julie have a good time at the party yesterday? (Juile dün partide iyi vakit geçirdi mi?) - Did you make your own dinner last night. (Dün gece akşam yemeğini sen mi yaptın?) - Did they understand the question? (Soruyu anladılar mı?)

10 Time Adverbs / zaman zarfları
Yesterday, yesterday morning, yesterday evening, etc. Two days ago, three months ago, a year ago, etc. Last night, last week, last year, last Tuesday, last July, etc. in 1966, in 2008 etc.

17 Ben’s Day When I woke up this morning, I found my dog, Fox, waiting for me. He wanted me to take him for a walk. I was too hungry, so first I had breakfast. I had a glass of milk and a piece of toast. Then I brushed my teeth and put on a heavy coat, because it was really cold outside. Fox was already impatient. We both went out, and walked to the park near home. It ran and jumped, and pursued some passers-by. He also destroyed some pieces of furniture somebody left on the road. I sat on a bench all the time, wishing I could be inside my warm bed. When my hands were frozen, I decided it was time to go back home. Fox didn’t want to, but I pulled hard and I managed to take him back. When we arrived at the front door, I realized I didn’t have my keys with me, so we stayed out in the cold for more than an hour! Fox was happy, but I was late for work!
