Equant is a recognized industry leader in global IP and data services for multinational businesses. We offer network, integration and managed services to global business. Our global network allows our customers access to their own company’s information and applications, and those available from the Internet anywhere in the world through a direct connection or “dial‑up”connection from portable computers or other network access interfaces. Increasingly we are focusing on helping customers explore ways of using IP technologies by providing new services or using services available from Intranets, Extranets, or the public Internet.

Our network spans more than 220 countries and territories, 1,100 cities and towns. We believe our ability to provide services in locations where our competitors cannot is a key selling point. Additionally the scale and seamless nature of this network provide us with the critical mass to deploy new service offerings to our customers faster and more efficiently than our competitors. The Network combines international standards, leading edge technology and high speed digital transmission routes. It has been designed to support high bandwidth, multimedia applications and is continually upgraded to take advantage of new technology. Our customers rely on the Network for “mission critical” data services. As such the quality of technology used and of the people involved in its ongoing development are key to maintaining the level of service required by our target market. In this regard our policy of having 100% operational control (rather than providing service through a patchwork of interconnected alliances) provides key advantage. Again this is unique in this industry - one seamless network, wholly owned by Equant.

Of course not all Equant customers want to go down the path of fully managed IP service but want a level of confidence above that provided by building their own global network. Equant understands this and is still committed to providing high quality layer two services such as Frame Relay and ATM in more countries than any other service provider on the world’s largest Nortel based network. As businesses still struggle with migrating legacy systems and applications from X.25 to IP we are still supporting them by continuing to deliver X.25 services in up to 148 countries. Equant’s philosophy is to provide customers with the solution which best suits their business environment, and with a long tradition and expertise in providing fully managed switched voice, Equant VPN is still the service which many Equant customers choose. However, we are also committed to helping customers migrate to the newer technologies, and our portfolio has a whole range of IP based Voice services, making a reality of Voice & Data convergence.
