What is the purpose of the Group 4 Project? It is a collaborative activity where students from different group 4 subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) work together on a scientific topic, allowing for concepts and perceptions from across the disciplines to be shared
Aims of the Group 4 Experimental Sciences addressed by the project: To develop and apply your information and communication technology skills in the study of science (Aim 7) To raise your awareness of the moral, ethical, social, economic and environmental implications of using science and technology (Aim 8) To encourage an understanding of the relationships between scientific disciplines and the overarching nature of the scientific method. (Aim 10)
What you do during this work is; to decide the main focus make sure that all the subjects are included. to decide which practical activities you will carry out and what equipment you need…you will to communicate your requests to the appropriate science technician and teacher. to keep communicating amongst yourselves… You need to let others in your group know how your part of the project is going!

Planning This stage must involve all group 4 students meeting to “brainstorming” and discuss the central topic, sharing ideas and information. The topic has been chosen by the group 4 teachers of our school as WATER. Next, the activities that will be carried out must be clearly defined. At the experimental stage, apparatus should be specified so that there is no delay in carrying out the action stage.
Action Carried out over one and a half day total for all group 4 subjects in normal scheduled class time. There should be collaboration during the action stage; findings of investigations should be shared with other students within the group. It is important to pay attention to safety, ethical and environmental considerations.

Young Reporters For The Environment (YRE) YRE is an international network of secondary school teachers and students who discover and promote solutions to today’s environmental issue through investigative journalism. You’ll submit articles and photos to the national YRE competition. Winning articles and photos may be entered to the international YRE competition. Winners from the international competition are showcased in an annual YRE book.
Young Reporters For The Environment (YRE) At the end of your group 4 project, you are responsible for writing an article to join the YRE competition. While writing your article, you should behave like a journalist. The purpose in writing this article is not explaining the process and result of the experiment. The purpose is to explain the conclusion of the experiment by relating it with the environmental impilcations in an attractive way as a journalist.
The aim of a journalist is to be read. So, It’s your job ; to convince your readers that they should read your article from beginning to end. to take them by the hand, to seduce them, to guide them along your text and leave them with a good feeling. to get the attention of your readers.
You are considered as a specialist of your topic, but your readers are not! Hunt in your articles any reference to persons, places, organisations, that you have not initially introduced, located or explained.

The choice of words Use words that are short, simple and precise. Find a title that is attractive, funny, provocative to catch the attention of your readers. Scientific and technical words are not immediately understood by the readers. Do not use too many at a time. Avoid using too many figures Try using percentages rather than absolute numbers.
Research Questions (RQ) Your RQ must be focused on the investigation point. You must clearly mention the dependent and independent variables and also controlled variables if necessary in your RQ. You must indicate how you measure the dependent variable.
How a subtitle can be related with G4 subjects? Assume a school asks the group 4 Project to work on 3 experimental sciences and limits topics with "Energy.“ Assume a group picked the subtitle "Light energy" In Physics, students are investigating how is the angle of deflection affects the rate of photosynthesis of Elodea canadensis by measuring the volume of produced oxygen gas. In Chemistry, students are investigating how is the time of exposure to light affects the decomposition of Vitamin C in Orange juice In Biology, students are investigating how do different wavelengths of light affect the rate of photosynthesis of Elodea canadensis, by counting the number of produced oxygen bubbles. by determining the vitamin C content by titrating it with iodine solution.
