GMC Registration Doctors who wish to work or train in the UK need registration with General Medical Council (GMC).

Training

Registration pathways PLAB Using a sponsorship Having acceptable postgraduate qualifications Having CESR or CEGPR

1.PLAB Graduation English language requirements PLAB 1 PLAB 2 Registration

English Language Requirements Knowledge of English can be proved by IELTS or OET. Each test has different scoring system but only IELTS is accepted by both GMC and Foundation Programmes. The criteria in IELTS: academic version, at least 7,5 overall and at least 7 from each section in one attempt.

PLAB 1 Multiple choice exam Consists of 200 questions based on clinical knowledge Lasts 3 hours The exam is organized 4 times in the UK and 2 times overseas per year. The passing score is variable each year but the average is between 120 and 130. Passing score is not important.

PLAB 2 Practical exam Consists of 18 stations which are equipped by mannequins and other equipments. In some stations, there are role players instead of mannequins. Medical knowledge and communication skills are assessed by an examiner during the each station.

2. Using a Sponsorship To apply for a sponsorship, a doctor must have been engaged in medical practice for 3 out of the last 5 years including the most recent 12 months. Each sponsor has their own scheme. If a doctor can satisfy the requirements of the sponsor, they will issue the doctor with a Certificate of Sponsorship which is the core part for the application with GMC.

Training in the UK for a limited time period MTI (Medical Training Initiative) allows IMGs (at least ST2) to come to the UK for a maximum of 2 years within NHS. Applications are started to assess around November. Successful applicants start placements in August/ September.

MTI Sistemine Uygunluk Kriterleri-1 MTI adayı için sınavlarla ilgili kriterler: MRCOG Part 1 sınavını geçmiş olmalıdır. MRCOG Part 2 sınavına girmiş ,sınavı geçememiş olabilir .Hala MTI sistemine dahil olabilir! MRCOG Part 3 ‘ye başvurmamış olmalıdır. Başvuru tarihinden önceki 2 yıl içinde gerçekleşmiş ,International English Language Testing System (IELTS) sınavının Academic tipini ,her dört aşamadan en az 7.0 veya üstü ve ortalama olarak 7.5 skoru alarak geçmiş olmalıdır. Başvurudan önce herhangi bir tarihte Professional and Linguistics Assessment Board (PLAB) sınavına girip,sınavda başarısız olmuş olmamalıdır.

MTI Sistemine Uygunluk Kriterleri-2 MTI Sistemine Dahil Olacak Doktordan Beklenen Eğitim/Deneyim Düzeyi En az 4 yıl Obstetri ve Jinekoloji dalında ,tıp fakültesi sonrası uzmanlık eğitimi almış olmak: Bu eğitim RCOG Examination Department tarafından değerlendirilir.Değerlendirme sürecine ‘Assessment of Training(AoT)’ denmektedir. Adayın,AoT formunu RCOG’nin internet sitesinden indirip ,doldurarak RCOG aot@rcog.org.uk adresine , ‘AoT Application(Insert Your College Number)’ başlığı altında, mail yoluyla göndermesi gerekmektedir.
