2 FEAP’ın Rolü Ulusal Birlikler için balık yetiştiriciliği istişare platformu oluşturmak: – Ulusal Birlikler arasında pazar kavgalarını ve haksız rekabeti engellemek, – Fazla üretim öngörmek ve tedbirleri almak, – Diğer birliklerin tecrübelerinden faydalanmak, Önemli konular üzerine ortak fikir geliştirmek: – Avrupa’da tüketici, işlemeci ve STK’larla ortak platformlar yaratan yeni trendleri görüp ona göre önlemler almak ve gelişmeler sağlamak, – Yem, balık büyüme, balık refahı ve çevre konularında yapılan AR-GE lere fiilen katılıp üyelere bilgi aktarımı, Bu fikirleri karar vericilere iletmek ve bu şekilde bütün üye ülkeleri kapsayan siyasi kararları etkilemek: – AB’de oluşturulan yeni mevzuatların oluşma aşamasında müdahale etmek, – İthalat – İhracat standartlarını geliştirmek vs.
