Student Activity - Drill Bit Life Part A has one hole drilled in it. Part B has two holes drilled in it. Part C has ten holes drilled in it. The drill bit can be used to drill 1000 holes before it must be replaced. The drill press must be turned on before holes can be drilled (or counted). An e-stop must be programmed into the “start“ rung. Once the bit is replaced, a reset button must be pressed to reinitialize the register holding total counts. The correct number of holes per part must be added into DM06. A “Drill on“ indicator (42.13) will light when the drill is started. A “Change Bit“ light (42.12) will come on when 1000 counts are reached.
